This photo has a deep meaning to me because it is one of the first times I witnessed suffering when I was younger. I didn’t fully understand what the photo meant, I remember thinking, why is the child’s belly so big and why are their legs so skinny. It really opened my eyes from my limited bubble of understanding of the real world. It is sad to know that my reality was so different that I couldn’t understand their suffering, yet the children in the photo were having to live it around the same age.
